This isn't for a banner (and I've already got a few response elsewhere) but I would really appreciate any good clear closeups of the embroidery on Elrond's top from the scene in The Fellowship of the Ring when he is talking to Gandalf. He may also wear it during the council meeting. I don't know if you have any ideas on that... Also, I was looking for some pictures of bolts of cloth lying on a table with some of the cloth unfurled. Silk or silk-looking stuff was my preference, and preferable not all over prints--jacquard or embroidery are probably fine. I found an alternative image, but I would still like to go with this original idea. (Here's my thing with the alternate image--it's a line from a song that I heard on WeaveCast--even though I don't weave-yet... And unfortunately, the text doesn't show up all that well... It says "We made silk/that could circle/the world (silken dreams/Anne Hills) more than thirty/times around"--the song is about a silk mill that closed, and this particular line is from the verse that reminsces about the glory days of the silk mill. 1As you might could tell by now, I really like yarn and fiber-y stuff... 1If, for some reason, you wanted to know how the verse goes, it goes like this: "Back in the days when I moved here/To try my hand as a weaver/We made silk that could circle the world(or is it earth...?)/More than thirty times around/We made silk for the Navy flags/Of the finest Bemberg thread/We made silk that could beat the best/That's what we always said" Now do you see what I mean by glory days of the silk mill? And now I'll attempt to stop blathering on about yarn and fiber.
